Website Hosting Cost in Malaysia: What Happens After the First Year?
Hosting is the service that keeps a website available online. It is separate from the domain name and separate from the work of designing the website. SiteFoundry includes basic hosting for the first year so a new project does not need another hosting decision before launch.
What is included in year one
SiteFoundry's Landing Page, Business Website and Ecommerce packages include one year of basic hosting. The website can therefore move from design to launch without the customer having to source a separate host first.
What happens at renewal
Hosting renewal currently starts from RM600 per year. The exact renewal should be confirmed before the renewal date, especially if the website's storage, traffic or technical requirements have changed.
Hosting is not the same as maintenance
Hosting keeps the site online. Maintenance covers technical work such as updates or support within the agreed maintenance scope. Business and Ecommerce packages include three months of basic technical maintenance; that does not mean unlimited website changes for a year.
Can you move the website later?
A WordPress site should not trap a customer permanently with one provider. If you eventually move hosting, the practical requirements depend on the destination host and what services are attached to the site. Plan the migration before cancelling the existing hosting.
